Program Highlights
Emmanuel’s home in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA) of Boston puts you right alongside institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Joslin Diabetes Center.
State of the Art Facilities:
In addition to labs in the Maureen Murphy Wilkens Science Center, nursing students further their practice in Emmanuel’s brand new, state-of-the-art Nursing Laboratory.
Clinical Experiences:
Every nursing student will have clinical experiences across nursing specialties including surgical, mental health, pediatrics, maternity/women’s health and community nursing. The program culminates in the Nursing Capstone, during which each student will work one-on-one with a practicing nurse.

Program Goals
Upon completion of this program, you will:
- Expand a personal philosophy of nursing through reflection on the Catholic intellectual tradition to effect positive outcomes for care-recipients within the context of their environments.
- Assume accountability for evidence and knowledge-based nursing practice and responsibility for involvement as a citizen knowledgeable in inter-professional health care systems.
- Practice as a professional nurse whose care-giving activities reflect the analysis of theoretical knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, nursing and evidence-based practice.
- Integrate into the culture of nursing the concepts of caring that foster a relationship between caregiver and care-recipient that results in the achievement of mutually agreed upon outcomes on the health/illness continuum.
